The UK Sonar Class Association which aims to promote the further the interests of the Sonar Class in the UK and in particular to organise and encourage class racing. We are a fun friendly class which supports everything from families to individuals, club owned boats to privately owned boats, beginners and improvers, Able and Disabled. Whether you are interested in learning to sail or chartering yourself, family or an individual, our class has something going for you so please get in touch to find out more.

Learn to Sail, Learn to Race - Designed by Bruce Kirby (Laser Dinghy) for safe and easy day sailing, it has proven ideal for its purpose. It has a modern rig and sailplan that gives good speed. Sails are standard Dacron and after sailing the yacht can quickly be packed away. The design and construction of the Sonar make it robust and very low maintenance.
