For those attending Cowes Week here is an opportunity for an additional fun day on the Saturday after, we hope many of you can stay and play.

Message below from the Royal Yacht Squadron

This week we have launched the Solent Platinum Jubilee Celebration via a press release and we hope your clubs and classes will share this with you. We are grateful to Carswell Gould for supporting our event.

This morning we released a short film about the current plans for the celebration of the Platinum Jubilee on the Official Facebook page and this will also be available on Vimeo and via the RYS website’s calendar page – please share this with your members and also post on your social media – the more we can get the word out the better. This is a chance for the Solent to celebrate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to show our thanks for all the Royal Family has done for sailing in the Solent.

Over the the next few days we will be sending out a further bulletin to you all with links to the forms your members will need to complete to participate in any/all of the elements of the celebration. These will include details of backstay flags, dressing overall lines and bunting. These online forms will remain available on the RYS website via the calendar page and also on the Facebook page.

The organisation and ultimate delivery of our celebration have been organised and supported by a host of local yacht club volunteers, this is a truly inclusive Solent event and we hope to see many of you on 6th August, on and off the water.
